Who are we?

We are Els and Marcel Esman.
More than 40 years ago, we were colleagues at a local bank branch in the Netherlands, in the Utrecht region. After that, we each walked our 'own path', privately and professionally.

Els then worked as a telephone receptionist / desk clerk at a colleague bank and later at an international trading company and a large construction company. Marcel continued his career at 2 other banks and then made the step to become an independent entrepreneur in financial services. Until our paths crossed again more than 8 years ago and we chose to fulfill our dreams together.

From a strong 'drive' to please and take care of people, it has always been our wish to start a B & B when the time was right. And that time was ripe… now about three years ago we started our preparations for 'our departure' abroad. Where to go was not immediately clear, but after orientations in Germany, France and Spain we found our dream home in Portugal on the Silver Coast. In January 2018 we sold our house in Almere and then left for Portugal in April. There we found the house in Santa Catarina (Caldas da Rainha) that exactly met our wishes: detached with enough space for the rental of 4 apartments or B & B rooms, in a quiet and green area, close to the airport and coast and centrally located to many sights and attractions.
